JSK is a social impact driven Food Catering business operating out of the BijlmerBajes old jail complex. Next to serving super delicious and healthy food to our clients, they are focused to enable fellow refugee entrepreneurs to succeed. We do this by providing them a professional platform where they get to show off their talent and test their business ideas in a real working operation to further improve their chances in starting their own businesses in the Netherlands.


Founder’s Profile

Jay A. Asad is a serial Entrepreneur, with over 30 years of Gulf & International business experience in countries like USA, UAE, Qatar and Syria, working for well-known prestigious business entities such as Al Kharafi Group, ITC, Al Ain Sports Club and Al Asaad Group. During his career he launched many businesses in Hospitality, Food and Recreation sectors, to name a few:

  • Al Shahbandar Restaurant: an 80 seat, upscale 3 star restaurant serving international cuisine in the heart of Damascus
  • Al Ain Club Café: a branded sports café in the name of a the most famous sports club in Abu Dhabi, UAE
  • Sands Hotel: a 4-star Hotel in the ancient city of Palmyra –Syria, served by two full size restaurant and a café
  • Caravan Camp: a mobile Bedouin Tent camp setup in the middle of the desert serving tourist authentic nomad’s food on camp fire under the skies.
  • Rimal Bakery: A fully automated bread plant with 12 ton/day production capacity baking Syria flat bread (Pita) at highest standards for the city of Palmyra, Syria
  • Club Donut: a franchise concept of small outlets with a central production facility making delicious tasty donuts with plans to scale all over Syria.


Mr. Asad currently is a refugee himself and he is determined on helping fellow refugees realize their ambition in creating value for themselves and for their communities by reaching work that suits their talent or by creating new businesses of their own thus, new jobs for refugees and for locals as well. Jay studied Construction Management and holds an MBA from Rutherford University, USA.
